The committee has accepted a special masjid rate of USD 300 against a standard fee of USD 3,000 for work of this scope. Payable 100 on commencement and 200 on completion. It covers the whole engagement: this study, the site measurement, the design pack and bill of quantities, supervision during installation, commissioning, and the acceptance measurement at the end. The office supplies no equipment and takes no percentage on anything the committee buys.

One question about the future women's floor — worth answering before treatment is fixed

سؤال واحد عن طابق النساء المستقبلي — يُستحسن جوابه قبل تثبيت كمية المعالجة

When that floor is built, will it look down into the prayer hall — a gallery open to it — or will it be closed off as a separate floor?

If it is closed off, it changes nothing here and there is nothing to do. If it is open to the hall, the two spaces share the same air: sound passes between them, and the hall's echo will not behave as it does today once that floor exists. Allowing for it while the treatment quantity is still being decided costs nothing. Discovering it after the panels are installed means doing part of the work twice.

07	2026-08-24	Ceiling height input corrected. The model takes the clear height to the beam soffit; it was being given 6.50 m, which the design office reported as the TOTAL. With 1.00 m beams the soffit is at 5.50 m. 08	2026-08-25	Study rebuilt on a machine-verified geometric basis and three calculation methods, then independently audited. Two findings lead: absorption placement (walls versus ceiling) governs the result, and loudspeaker arrangements differ mainly in evenness of coverage. 09	2026-09-05	Site measurement carried out and the treatment re-specified onto the walls. Testing on the measured hall shows that absorption on the ceiling cannot reach the reverberation target at any area, while a far smaller area on the walls does. The perforated-ceiling design published in the previous issue is withdrawn, together with its cost. Treatment is now mineral wool on a framed cavity, fabric-faced, on three walls; the qibla wall is left clear. 10	2026-09-24	Two corrections of record. The issued plan is the floor the congregation prays on, not a service level — confirmed by the engineering contact on 23 August 2026; the earlier description is withdrawn wherever it appeared. 11	2026-10-05	The survey measurements are adopted and the treatment is re-sited. The stone dado measures 5.367 m against a beam soffit at 5.414 m, so there is no wall above it to treat and the wall scheme published in revision 09 is withdrawn. The treatment moves onto the stone itself — 320 m² fabric-faced on three walls, the qibla wall left clear, with 200 m² of ceiling. The ceiling was tested on its own and reaches the standard at no area. Quantities are issued with the cloth and the framing deliberately unpriced and named instead, so the committee can obtain its own quotations. 1Introduction and summaryالمقدمة والخلاصة

The prayer hall presents a loss of speech intelligibility that is audible without instruments. Reinforced speech arrives at a sufficient level but is not reliably understood, and the system is prone to feedback. This document sets out the basis on which that will be diagnosed and corrected.

يعاني الحرم من قصور في وضوح الكلام يُدرَك بالأذن دون حاجة إلى أجهزة قياس. فالصوت المكبَّر عبر المنظومة يصل بمستوى كافٍ لكنه لا يُفهم فهماً موثوقاً، والمنظومة عرضة للصفير. تحدّد هذه الوثيقة الأساس الذي سيُشخَّص عليه ذلك ويُصحَّح.

1.1Principal finding to dateالنتيجة الرئيسية حتى تاريخه

The governing problem is the ratio between sound arriving directly at a listener and sound arriving after reflection, not the absolute sound level. Every significant surface in the hall is reflective — marble walls, a marble mihrab, glazing and a hard ceiling on two levels — with carpet the only material providing meaningful absorption. Raising the level of the existing system raises both the direct and the reflected field together, and so does not improve intelligibility.

What the survey closed. No dimensioned section reached this office until 24 September 2026, so every height in the model had rested on a figure relayed by the design office — and room volume governs every acoustic quantity. The survey measured the heights, the coffers and the stone; the reverberation had already been measured on 3 September. One of those readings, the height of the stone, changed the recommendation, and section 7 sets out how.

R-07	Mediumمتوسط	Moisture damage was observed in ceiling bays. No absorptive treatment may be specified overhead until the cause is established — an absorber in a damp cavity is a liability.
